Work the System Easy Template Software®

Updated 7/29/2008

North Sister Publishing’s Work The System Easy-Template® software will quickly guide you, the business owner or department manager, through the process of creating the three vital Work the System documents: The Strategic Objective, General Operating Principles, and Working Procedures. It will make the creation of these documents fast and easy, with a fill-in-the-blanks simplicity (Oh how I wish I had this when we first began documenting Centratel!) It took us months to refine the process to what is now: Fast and simple…and If you “get it,” which means you understand how vital documentations is, make it easy on yourself in the very first portion of your rejuvenation.

The very beginning stage of documentation is where the ball can be dropped – where a massive error of omission can occur – not just because this is all new, but because fire-killing is still in full force, ready to send you back to endless mole-whacking!

Because the program will guide documentation creation with prompters, vital points of the process will not be overlooked. Also, the imbedded format parameters will guarantee congruency among the documents.

Expect the web-based software to cut the time of documentation-creation by over 50%. The purchase price is $395, with an on-going monthly subscription fee of $20 per month (billed quarterly) which entitles you to unlimited customer service for the first 30 days after purchase, and 30 minutes per month thereafter. The web-based software will be constantly enhanced and “tweaked” through the years.

The program is in production with a completion date of September 15, 2008.

Work the System Boot Camp

The first Work the System Boot Camp is set for Monday and Tuesday, October 20th and 21st, 2008, at The Riverhouse Resort and Conference Center in Bend, Oregon.

Why attend? Because your workday, and your life, will never be the same!

If you’ve read Sam’s book, Work the System: The Simple Mechanics of Working Less and Making More, you will understand the thrust of the Boot Camp and what it can mean for your organization. Designed for the small business owner or corporate department manager, this two-day, intensive, intimate-group program goes to the heart of the WTS process with the intent of helping you launch your business (or department) into an organized, efficient, self-sufficient, and profitable organism. All elements of the methodology will be addressed with plenty of Q&A time and interaction with Sam. The Boot Camp will precisely guide you through the entire process from the “get it” phase, to training your staff to do the initial “heavy lifting,” to implementing the methodology, to on-going maintenance and “tweaking.”

There will be special emphasis on the “getting it” aspect: (“Once one has the belief lodged in the belly, rather than an idea learned in the head, the rest comes naturally…”), as well as how to encourage and convince staff to “get it,” too. We’ll also discuss hiring guidelines to help insure you employ and retain people who will naturally assume your newfound “outside and slightly elevated” vantage point. Everything we cover will be pointed toward preventing the day-to-day fire killing found too often in small business or even in departments of large, relatively successful corporations.

The ultimate aim? Launching you toward a life where you can “work less and make more”

Come mentally and physically prepared to focus, and ready to tackle your own most sensitive business issues. You will leave with a different perspective of your life and work, with 100% of the resources necessary to institute the Work the System methodology on your own.

Cost and logistics
Because this is the first Work the System Boot Camp ever, we are offering a 40% discount from our 2009 price of $2,995. The reduced cost is $1,795 for the first attendee. Deadline for this discount is 5 p.m. September 15th. For multiple attendees from the same organization (or if you and a friend register together), cost for each is $1595. You must place the orders together for this discount to be effective. Note: Lodging, travel, and personal expenses are not included. Again: This is the first Work the System Boot Camp and therefore the only time the workshop will be at this price.

Payment for the program must be received in advance. If you plan on attending, REGISTER NOW: REGISTRATION IS LIMITED. Click here to register for the Boot Camp!

Included are two group lunches and refreshments. A copy of the book Work the System is included. (This will be the revised 2nd printing copy, to be released August 15th.) In advance, for our out-of-town visitors, we will send a thorough compendium of dining and recreational possibilities. Registration and information packet pick-up will be from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Monday morning in our Riverhouse meeting room.

There will be a casual social gathering on Monday evening at Sam and Linda Carpenter’s home beginning at 7 p.m. Directions will be provided.

Why come to Bend, Oregon?
With over 300 sunny days per year, Bend is THE Northwest resort town, a perfect vacation destination with plenty of opportunities for golf, hiking, rock and mountain climbing, skiing, cycling, kayaking, river rafting, trout fishing, shopping, or just basking in the sun in beautiful downtown Drake Park. If you can swing it, stay for a week and bring your family! Go to www.visitbend.com for comprehensive information regarding Central Oregon.

How to get to Bend
We recommend flying into the Redmond, Oregon airport (RDM). At the airport, rent a car for the 15 mile drive to Bend. Another alternative is to fly into the Portland airport (PDX) which will mean a 3 ½ hour, 160 mile drive to Bend (if you do this, we recommend you drive during daylight hours…it’s a beautiful trip).

Where to stay once you’re here
We suggest you stay at the Riverhouse Hotel which will host the Boot Camp. Please visit the Web site: www.riverhouse.com and call 1-866-453-4480 to reserve your room.
